This product has many other uses besides just clothing repair. You can use it to baste quilts. You can use it to do your hemming. It can also be used in crafts and fabric art. You can view videos of several different how-to's by going to the company website which is at bonash dot com.
And the teflon ironing sheet is awesome. Absolutely nothing will stick to it!

(More customer reviews)A lot of beaders prefer longer needles. My preference in needles is shorter needles for more control. I still use the longer ones for fringe, and smaller needles for beads with smaller holes. These work just fine with Miyuki, Toho and Matsuno seed beads including the size 15 beads. For beads on hanks that come from other countries they may be too big.
I really like these for embroidery because they go through fabric without getting as distorted as finer needles can.

I have bought many irons in my 30 years in business. And have paid large sums of money for some of them.
This iron is the best all around iron on the market today. I don't say that lightly either. It does pull more power with it's heavy duty electric cord, I expect my electric bill will go up slightly now that I use this exclusively on my fabrics..... But the finished product is so much nicer and I get the professional finish I want to have on my handwovens. The added cost is worth the finished product.

However I was determined to finish this cross stitch, as I LOVE mermaids. I had to order another kit to complete this one, doubling the price. I researched and found that Dimensions brand is notorious for this problem. I will not be buying Dimensions brand again!

This head-wearing magnifying glass is loaded with features that make it ideal for a variety of tasks. I paid close to $30 for the item and when I received it close to Christmas time it was not the product pictured (the image on the side was a quilting square and said Quilt Happy, and I had tried to buy the Sheep image with Knit Happy) and there was not time to fix it. The customer service email returned as undeliverable after 3 attempts. The quality/sturdiness is the issue. This is like a cheap container you could get at a dollar store, not something you pay $30 for, give as a gift and get from a specialty yarn store. Do not let this negatively impact your opinion of the seller, she went out of her way to inform me the item was out of stock and would be delayed and did get it to me by Christmas....it was just the wrong item when it did finally arrive, and again, low quality. Would not buy again or recommend.

(More customer reviews)The only reason I gave the mat a 4 is because the people at Cricut do not tell you how to use their mats to the best of their ability. The mats come out too sticky and ruin your paper because everything curls up. Before you use the mat, you can smooth is against a clean T-shirt a couple of times and enough lint attaches to it so it is sticky enough to hold the paper but not too sticky.
Once it loses its stickiness and won't hold your paper good enough to cut, you can take a blue glue stick and run it over the mat and let it dry. It will become sticky again. You can do this over and over, maybe 20 times to extend the life of your mat and saving money!

McCall's Crafts Cat Family pattern M5259 Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this cute pattern, McCall's Crafts M5259, thinking it would be fun to create a cute little multi-colored cat (see photo of pattern, lower left corner). I love mixed patterns and colors and have thoroughly enjoyed visiting fabric stores to do that mixing and matching.
This was the first sewing I had done in quite a few years, but studying the layout of the pattern and instruction sheets--McCall's is quite easy to follow--made everything jump back into focus in no time. It took me two nights to sew the first cat--my Saints Who Dat Cat (see my profile photo).
When I say I studied, I did just that. McCall's shows how to lay out the fabric, how to place the pattern pieces, then provides easy-to-follow instructions. Very simple. The stitching I had to take apart was strictly my own fault.
I have made about 20 of these cats so far. Why? I don't know. I think I've developed an addiction. It's not McCall's fault. McCall's was just doing its job. Maybe the fault is in my stars. Or my head. Or maybe I'm becoming one of those Cat Ladies.

Homecrafters Needle Work Scroll Frame 4 Inch x8 Inch Review

(More customer reviews)When I first started needle crafting, I used a hoop. I hated the rings and marks the hoops would leave on the fabric. I went looking for a frame that was adjustable, sturdy, and could keep my fabric clean and taut while I worked. I work on many different sized projects, and often have more than one in progress at any given time, so I bought these frames in every size I could find.
Here is a breakdown of the pros and cons I found with this product:
PRO
1) The frame is very easy to put together.
2) The frame is lightweight.
3) You can easily adjust the frame to fit your fabric size.
4) You can easily adjust the position of the fabric as you work, which is especially helpful with larger images.
5) The frame keeps your fabric taut while you work, which helps keep your stitches even.
6) I used to put a thin piece of masking tape around the edges of my fabric, but there is no need to with this frame.
CON
1) If you aren't careful, it is possible for your floss to get stuck or wrapped around the wing nuts that hold the frame together. This is a minor problem and can be fixed by purchasing scroll frame knobs, which would replace the wing nuts (Hardwood Scroll Frame Knobs-Set Of 4). I think the knobs look nicer than the wing nuts anyway.
