For years I have used Stitch Witchery and it is a fine product, BUT unexpectedly I came upon a product called Steam-A-Seam 2 Double Stick Fusible l/2" tape. It is so easy to use. It sticks to the fabric so all that is needed is to fold the fabric, enclosing the tape, and then press a steam iron on top for about 10-15 seconds. So easy. So fast. Great product.

Patch Attach Permanent Patch Adhesive 1 oz Review

(More customer reviews)I struggled with this product the first couple of times I used it, but ultimately I have found this to be an EXCELLENT product. Our Isshinryu school requires a very large patch on the front of the uniform, with smaller patches on each shoulder and lower front of gi. I have used this product successfully on four of my own gi's which get VERY sweaty and are frequently washed, and both of my children's uniforms as well. I have also attached all of my son's Royal Rangers scout group patches and badges to his uniform with great success. The oldest karate gi with patch attach is five years old now, and the patches are still holding strong! Here's a suggestion: Follow the directions, use a pre-heated iron on a linnen setting. Apply the heat for about a minute and a half through a wash cloth over the patch. Carefully remove the wash clothe and let the patch cool. Apply the heat again without the washcloth for another 30 seconds and let cool again. Turn garment inside out and apply heat to the back of the patch directly through the opposite side of the garment for another 30 seconds. This method has worked for me EVERY time.

1: Yes it works.
2: It makes it hard for it to "rip" again.
However, the container it's in, the cap may get stuck from the glue so you end up having to use a wrench to take it off.
But I do find it funny how people complain about the "gooey mess", because it says on the product that you should use only 3 coats of it on one rip.
I used two, and it didn't become that visible.
Besides, I only glued the rip from the inside and not on the outside.
I have no complaints about the product and how it works, but just the container.
Overall, I might buy this again in the future.

Mighty Mendit Review

(More customer reviews)I used this product to glue down some vinyl tile that would not stick, glued together loose ends of some strip insulation, and repaired an old wood toy. This glue did the job. I found it easy to use. You have to press with some force to get the glue out of the bottle, but the closure does keep the glue from sealing itself up, so the product stays fresh. The glue comes out in a thin stream, easy to work with, just be patient.

Clover Fabric Adhesive Stick Review

(More customer reviews)This fabric glue stick works as advertised. The hold is not permanent, and allows you to reposition fabric if you need to do so. I use to help me with some fine applique to hold pieces in place, and find it very useful.
One word of caution that this glue sticks lasts about a year (at best) even if the original non-opened condition. After that it dries out and stops being sticky. Unfortunately, I found this out from personal experience. A year is not unreasonable as long as you buy it for the current project, not just to have in case you need it later.
I noticed that the price on the on this product fluctuates. There is a nice online tool that I use to help catch a good price on Amazon, this tool is called "Online Price Alert". This tool will send you an email when the Amazon item price reaches the target price range that you specify. If you search on "online price alert" in Google it will be come up at the top. I find this tool to be very helpful.

Tear Mender Instant Fabric & Leather Adhesive-2 Ounces Review

(More customer reviews)I can't believe I never heard of this product before a few months ago... since then, I keep finding new uses for it. (Case in point: Just the other night I did a quick repair of a couple of oven mitts that had their seams torn apart a bit when I washed them.) Tear Mender creates a bond that is actually stronger than the fabric itself, and it's really quick and easy to use.
The only caveats: 1) if you use this on thinner fabrics, it will stiffen them and probably discolor them, since the fabric soaks up the glue -- thus, it's best for either thicker fabric or if you are using it in a hidden seam; 2) it's easy when you're using it to get a drop or two on your pants or shirt -- this is to be avoided at all costs, however, since it will create a little rubbery stain on them that you will NEVER get out -- so either wear "paint clothes" or just be very careful when gluing. (It does come off your fingers very easily, though -- just rub it off -- and it's non-toxic.)
Overall, Tear Mender is an awesome product, and you will always want to have a bottle of it in your cupboard. It might even be as useful as the duct tape and WD-40! ;-)

This fabric glue is just what I need. I use it all the time, because it's easier than using pins. In fact, I'm not very good at using pins. My hems and badges aren't straight unless I use the fabric glue. Just make sure to give it a little time to bond before taking it to the machine.

Beacon Fabri-Tac Permanent Adhesive, 4-Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)I wasn't expecting this stuff to be very effective. I have a pair of jeans I really like that were patched/reinforced (on the inside) with iron-on stuff. After several washings, the patches were coming loose, but the fabri-tac really glued them back down tight. The jeans have been through the wash a couple of times now and the patches are holding-up well. I also have a big cushion for an teak outdoor loveseat. The stitching was rotting and the whole thing was coming apart. It took several days of gluing different sections, but I was able to put it all back together again. The new seams are a bit stiff, but they're very strong. I used very little of the product for these two jobs. I'm impressed.
