The claps are curved outwrd a bit and when I tried to bend it slightly it just beoke with no chance of repair. There has to be something better out there...

Antique Silver Finish Heavy Oval Cloak Clasp or Buckle. The clasp is 35MM or 3.75" X 1.6". This heavy duty clasp is made of antiqued silver finished metal and is strong enough to hold any heavy weight cloak or garment. This clasp is also large enough and strong enough to operate as a belt buckle. The clasp is two pieces sliding inside each other to form a strong and elegant oval shaped closure. This would work well for modern impression as well as Colonial, Regency, Victorian, Edwardian or Goth garments. Easy to sew on through the side openings. (More customer reviews)I needed a solution to a heavy winter wool coat that only had a middle button which meant that the hood would not stay closed. So I looked at different solutions including kilt pins but they were not sturdy enough. So I got these (which I get a lot of compliments on) and sewed them to the neck of the coat. They hook and stay hooked. They are a good solution to my problem. And when I make a cloak, this is where I will find my clasp.

Fiskars 12-94227097 5-Inch Blunt Softgrip Scissors Review

(More customer reviews)I am an Art teacher that has been using Fiskars student scissors for 10+ years. When I received my latest order of scissors, they were of this new type with the "larger" handles (exactly like these, but without the "softgrip"). Because of the new way that the blades are seated into the handles, they are prone to become loose and wobbly, eventually rendering them impossible to cut with. This is at the plastic connection point, not the pivot screw, so they cannot be re-tightened. I have 10 year old pairs of the other style that cut better than these new ones. Furthermore, the new, "larger" handles actually have smaller finger openings-- so they are uncomfortable for larger-handed students to use or for adults to demonstrate with.

Jacqueline Myers-Cho has a very unique style, and has written a book that appeals to both both the Indie Crowd and mainstream crafters.
Strands has clothing and jewelry projects that are easy enough for anyone to do. Even if you fear the sewing machine, you can handstitch any of these projects. The projects are clean and modern but you can really make them uniquely yours by adding your own artistic touch. My faves in the book are the New York Fall Cape and the Smidgeon Ball Necklace.
Strands is a wonderfully refreshing twist on "reduce, reuse, recycle" mantra of today. These look like high end boutique wear that no one would guess was recycled. Even if you aren't into being 'grean' you'll enjoy the projects in this book.

Aleene's Platinum Bond Adhesive Super Fabric 2 oz Review

(More customer reviews)Ok this stuff is scary....I make hand bags and there is a some glue involved. I have been trying different types for the strongest and permanent hold. I got some of Aleens platinum bond. What a mess. Not only did it give me a headache, it does not work. I followed the directions exactly, and the stuff does not work at all, not only that it is a dangerous substance, read the warning, it smells like a very powerful airplain glue, if you old enough to remember that. The tube also has a poor design, there is a long extention you screw on, after you cut the desired size tip there is no way to cap it. And no way to get the glue out of the long screw extention. I tried to cap it with one of my sewing pins, the tipe with a little ball on the end, and it still dried up. When I did the whole screw on extention was full of dried up glue, what a stinking mess. I never write reviews but I am going to on this one. When looking for a good fabric glue one that will last and not come apart use Amazing E-6000 it is the best, and for professionals use rubber cement not elmers it is called (Best Test) and follow the top instructions, (it has 3 different ways to use it) you can get it on line from [...] they sell art supplies. The lengths some people will go to to make a buck. It is now in the trash .....yuck

(More customer reviews)I have this in a 1 inch X 50 size and love it, keeps my sewing box neat, especially the thread that constantly wants to unwind. Now it sits neatly in place and is easy to remove and re apply. I also have vertical curtains with a plastic backing, and when the windows are open, they rattle together terribly, but not any more, I just cut off a piece of Hugo's tape and wrap it around and viola! silence, take it off to close the blinds and use it again next time. Books that don't want to stack stay neatly in place with Hugo's. Put a piece around like objects in my 'junk drawer' to keep it neat, around my markers, pens, pencils. Roll up a magazine and 'tape' it to keep it neat for transport, on and on, wonderful stuff, sooooo happy with this product!
