1901 Split Skirt Pattern Review

1901 Split Skirt Pattern
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this pattern for use with a steampunk costume. I would consider myself an average seamstress. The pattern itself looks delightful, is well-packaged, and has lots of information. Unfortunately, I found the directions confusing much of the time until everything was laid out. The bigger problem I had was that the pattern was made out of regular white paper/multipurpose paper, instead of the thin tissue paper that's used by most pattern companies today. I find that using multipurpose paper, especially for large patterns, makes for extremely tricky pinning. This pattern is already a bit complicated, so I was very nervous about the final product with how much difficulty I was having with pinning.
The pattern is excellently drafted, and is definitely a unique piece, but you're gonna have a bit of a fight to get it!

Finding what I wanted at a reasonable price was so easy. I purchased a pattern for 8" doll clothes. Making payment was easy. I received the pattern very quickly in the exact condition as avertised. I live in a very rural area and a shopping trip that would have taken several hours to get to a store that sold what I wanted and used several gallons of gasoline was accomplished almost instantly and at no extra expense. Thanks for a easy shopping experience.

Big Sky Riding Skirt Pattern Review

Big Sky Riding Skirt Pattern

I made the 'Big Sky Riding Skirt' for a dear friend. It fit her beautifully. The skirt has a 21st century look, with clean-lines; quite versatile with the button-front panel which folds (button-down) to the right leg. The leg openings are roomy. The look is more than ranch-style; it's urban-chic!!!

Bring out the cowgirl in you! Equestrian women of the early 20th century, who were determined to ride astride rather than sidesaddle, wore these divided skirts. An ingenious fashion, with front panel that buttons one way for a skirt and the other way for pants. Pattern is derived from a skirt worn by legendary rancher and rodeo rider, Fannie Sperry Steele. Suggested fabrics: Medium to heavyweight cottons and blends such as poplin, denim, gabardine, corduroy; linen; light to medium-weight wools; suiting weight silks

Misses Western Split Skirt, Jacket, Vest and Leggings Pattern (1890 - Present) Review

Misses Western Split Skirt, Jacket, Vest and Leggings Pattern (1890 - Present)

I love this pattern except that the sizes are way too small. I made the size 24 only to find that it is more like an 18! I put the skirt on after making it and could not make the waistband ends meet. They were 6 inches apart!
What a shame. I bought all that material, spent the time to make it and can't wear it unless I was to loose 30 pounds!

Kwik Sew Jumper & Shirt Plus Size Pattern By The Each Review

Kwik Sew Jumper and Shirt Plus Size Pattern By The Each
Average Reviews:

Kwik Sew patterns are known for their streamlined and easy approach to sewing. This jumper pattern is no exception.
The pattern view without the buttons is a snap to make. I've made several denim jumpers using this pattern and they all went together quickly. Also, I omit the ties as I like a looser fit.
The pattern pieces are made of sturdy white drafting paper with various cutting lines in different colors. This makes cutting out the pattern so much easier. Also, Kwik Sew patterns are very sturdy as they are made from drafting paper rather than thin tissue paper.
Highly recommend.

Sewable Swedish Tracing Paper 29" x 10 Yard Roll Review

Sewable Swedish Tracing Paper 29 x 10 Yard Roll
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought some of this at a sewing expo a few years ago, and it's wonderful for tracing out patterns (like the Kwik Sew patterns that are printed on heavy paper, or the Jalie patterns: you can trace off the exact size you want, or any sewing patterns that you need to adjust to fit properly). It drapes much better than paper, and you can sew it. It's heavier in weight than the tissue paper that the big pattern companies use, so it's also a little bit sturdier for paper pattern fitting, and it's sheer enough that if you're tracing a pattern with strong lines, you can do so at the kitchen table with a light overhead instead of using a window for a light table. I'm fully planning on buying more when I run out. Oh, and a 10 yard roll lasted me about a year (though it does depend on how much you use, and how often you sew).

Pattern sizes vary dramatically. Now you can trace your pattern pieces, baste them together with this sewable tracing paper, and try it on. Mark any changes right on the paper, remove the basting and pin to your fabric for cutting. You'll avoid costly mistakes with your expensive fabric! You'll have a durable master pattern that is strong, see-through and drapably soft.
