(More customer reviews)I bought some of this at a sewing expo a few years ago, and it's wonderful for tracing out patterns (like the Kwik Sew patterns that are printed on heavy paper, or the Jalie patterns: you can trace off the exact size you want, or any sewing patterns that you need to adjust to fit properly). It drapes much better than paper, and you can sew it. It's heavier in weight than the tissue paper that the big pattern companies use, so it's also a little bit sturdier for paper pattern fitting, and it's sheer enough that if you're tracing a pattern with strong lines, you can do so at the kitchen table with a light overhead instead of using a window for a light table. I'm fully planning on buying more when I run out. Oh, and a 10 yard roll lasted me about a year (though it does depend on how much you use, and how often you sew).

Pattern sizes vary dramatically. Now you can trace your pattern pieces, baste them together with this sewable tracing paper, and try it on. Mark any changes right on the paper, remove the basting and pin to your fabric for cutting. You'll avoid costly mistakes with your expensive fabric! You'll have a durable master pattern that is strong, see-through and drapably soft.
