Janome Needle Unit w/Presser Foot for Felting Review

Janome Needle Unit w/Presser Foot for Felting

I own and enjoy the Singer ER-10 Embellisher Singer Felting and Embellishing Machine.
After a little research I learned that the needles for the Janome FM725 and some other attachments would fit the Singer. Let's face it, needles for either machine are REALLY expensive at just under $4 each.
Needles will wear down and will need replacing. You can order 10 needles at $39 or you can order this kit with an extra needle unit (with 5 needles loaded and ready to insert in the ER-10) and it comes with 5 extra needles... for $39.
Hmm... well, I can't imagine that anything would happen to the original ER-10 Needle holder but hey, it's virtually free.
Unfortunately, the presser foot does NOT fit the ER-10 but it really didn't cost me anything.
Enjoy!

Clover Felting Needle Mat Large Review

Clover Felting Needle Mat Large
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While this felting mat works just fine with the Clover felting tool, it really is unnecessary. An equally thick felting foam pad works just as well, if not better. Flat felt tends to stick to the bristles and get kind of messy, which might make roving felt faster in the first place but will mess it up as it felts, too. Also, it's pretty worthless if you switch to using a single felting needle, and it doesn't work as well with thin layers of roving which sometimes work their way down the bristles before they get a chance to really felt.
This Clover mat does have three advantages over a foam pad: 1)It has a hard plastic back that lets you use it on a pillow in your lap (whereas a foam pad should be used over a hard surface lest you poke yourself), 2)It is well-made and more durable than a foam pad, and 3)It will hold things in place, and so it works better when needle felting onto a felt ball or such.

The brush-like mat enables smooth punching with little resistance, and allows the fibers to meshed with the base fabric. The mat bristle length provides the ideal hardness and density for felting. Measures: 3 1/4-inch by 5-inch.

Clover Pen Style Needle Felting Tool Review

Clover Pen Style Needle Felting Tool

This is a really comfortable tool to use. It fits the hand better than a single needle and has multiple needles for faster felting. The needles are for fine or detail work and leave a nice finished surface. I use my Clover Pen all the time on all my needle felted item. The only thing I would change is the cap. It should fit on the wrong end for storage when you are using the tool. Mine doesn't. But I wouldn't let that stop anyone from trying this handy tool.

Nessie, The Lass of Loch Ness, sewing pattern Review

Nessie, The Lass of Loch Ness, sewing pattern

I've made a lot of patterns by Jennifer Carson and can only sing praises for her. The patterns are easy to read and complete. They are creative and leave plenty of room for someone to add a touch of their own style to these patterns. Once you finish one of her patterns you will come back for more. If you ever have a question or concern, Jennifer, is willing to help you out.
As for this pattern, Nessie, is absolutely adorable finished. I used a batik felted fabric and it turned out great. The kids throw her around and it is holding up just fine. I plan on making a few more for the kids to play with.

Janome FM-725 Needle Felting Machine By The Each Review

Janome FM-725 Needle Felting Machine By The Each

This is a crafting tool, not a sewing machine, but if you like to needle felt, rug hook, crochet, etc. or other things that give you a lot of "fiber" materials in your crafting closet, this thing is marvy! You can take a piece of felt, burlap, muslin, and make tapestries and wall hangings with yarn, roving, bits and pieces of ribbon, etc. in half the time it would take to do it by hand. Although it will "join" materials together, it is not like an applique process where the pieces could potentillialy withstand a machine washing, so for garments you will probably need additional hand-sewing on elaborate creations. But -- it's fun and has "no rules" for use.
