(More customer reviews)I have made many, many stockings and this one was the worst. The face is small and needs to be pre printed so that no embroidery is necessary on it. Very hard to get the mouth right. I will never make another one of these.
I have always been very good at embroidery but this was difficult.
I was so sick of it by the time I got it finished it wasn't even pretty. Hope you have better luck with it than I had.

18" Long Stocking Felt Applique Kit: Football Santa Review

(More customer reviews)The Football Santa stocking was the first of this kind of craft I have ever done. I expected it to be simple felt & glue but it is not. It involves embroidary & lots of delicate, tiny work. But I loved it! I am now doing a different stocking for each member of my family. That makes these stockings great gifts - you can choose a different design to fit every member on your Xmas list. The Football Santa was great for my nephew because he plays football. I even changed the Santa's jesey number to match my nephew's. This craft is very involving - but I love spending hours lost in the details. Yet it's not too difficult for beginnersw. I had not done any embroidary for years, since college, yet I was able to catch on easily. There are very detailed instructions & you can always find how-to videoes on You Tube if you just can't figure out the stitch from the instructions. I love the 4 stockings I've already done & look forward to doing the 4 others I have yet to finish.

Clover Felting Needle Mat Large Review

(More customer reviews)While this felting mat works just fine with the Clover felting tool, it really is unnecessary. An equally thick felting foam pad works just as well, if not better. Flat felt tends to stick to the bristles and get kind of messy, which might make roving felt faster in the first place but will mess it up as it felts, too. Also, it's pretty worthless if you switch to using a single felting needle, and it doesn't work as well with thin layers of roving which sometimes work their way down the bristles before they get a chance to really felt.
This Clover mat does have three advantages over a foam pad: 1)It has a hard plastic back that lets you use it on a pillow in your lap (whereas a foam pad should be used over a hard surface lest you poke yourself), 2)It is well-made and more durable than a foam pad, and 3)It will hold things in place, and so it works better when needle felting onto a felt ball or such.

Dimensions Sequined Santa Stocking Review

(More customer reviews)This was an easy stocking to complete. The hardest part was embroidering the beard after appliquéing it to create a quilted look. I have done a few stocking kits by Dimensions/Felt Works and find they are easier then stocking kits by Bucilla; they have less pieces and the directions are step-by-step pictures well Bucilla's are written step-by-step without the pictures. If you have never done stocking from a kit before, this kit would be a great first try.

This year I'm adding to the tradition and making one for each of my parents. I made this particular stocking for my dad and it turned our amazing! The stocking is time consuming but worth it for the final product because it doesn't look cheezy and homemade. For those considering other felt stockings, I just want to point out that the quality of Bucilla to me, is better than some of the other brands and I prefer their style of instructions.

Clover Pen Style Needle Felting Tool Review

(More customer reviews)This is a really comfortable tool to use. It fits the hand better than a single needle and has multiple needles for faster felting. The needles are for fine or detail work and leave a nice finished surface. I use my Clover Pen all the time on all my needle felted item. The only thing I would change is the cap. It should fit on the wrong end for storage when you are using the tool. Mine doesn't. But I wouldn't let that stop anyone from trying this handy tool.

(More customer reviews)This is a crafting tool, not a sewing machine, but if you like to needle felt, rug hook, crochet, etc. or other things that give you a lot of "fiber" materials in your crafting closet, this thing is marvy! You can take a piece of felt, burlap, muslin, and make tapestries and wall hangings with yarn, roving, bits and pieces of ribbon, etc. in half the time it would take to do it by hand. Although it will "join" materials together, it is not like an applique process where the pieces could potentillialy withstand a machine washing, so for garments you will probably need additional hand-sewing on elaborate creations. But -- it's fun and has "no rules" for use.
