Imagine those disposeable table cloths that are vinyl coated cotton,
then color it brown, that is what this is. Nearly paper thin and way too
glosssy, and the texture screams fake as well.
I ordered this looking for something to use on seat upoholstry, big mistake.

So I headed down to my local fabric store and paid almost twice as much for what I thought was the same fabric. I could not believe the difference! The fabric I ordered here was far superior! It really is 108" wide (the material I purchased locally said it was 108", but it was not), and is thicker (important for keeping out the sunlight) and a lot better quality than what I found locally. The fabric presses really nicely and the curtains made with THIS fabric look fabulous! Needless to say, I've ordered more of this fabric and will be replacing the curtains made with the inferior fabric!

It was easy to cut, shape, and a little difficult to sew where the grips are--it bent my sewing needle so when you sew you'll need to be careful and go slow. It was enough fabric for two pairs size 7. The soles grips on wood & tile. Wished it had been available in black rather than white. The bottom shows scuffs and dirt easily so gave it 4 stars rather than 5.

(More customer reviews)I have used Amy Butler patterns in the past and loved them, however this was disappointing. I did not like the finished product. It is a very long and skinny bag much more so than pictured on the pattern. I found it was difficult to sew at times. It has a zipper and pleating is required at each end of the zipper. The pattern did a poor job of walking you through this part and the pleats were poorly marked on the pattern as to how big the pleat is surposed to be. I was so disappointed and hated the bag so much that I immediately turned around and sold the pattern on ebay.

Daisy Kingdom Easy Cut and Sew Nursery Soft Story Book Kit, Safari Tots Review

(More customer reviews)My friend purchased and made this item, and it is terrific.
Despite being a novice sewer she did a great job, and she said it was very easy to make. The pattern is laid out on one large sheet and you cut out each "page" from the cover and batting (supplied). Each step is clearly outlined and a basic knowledge of sewing terminology is all you need. You dont' even need a machine, it can be done by hand if you wish.
You can ramp it up by adding piping or rickrack to the edges, decorating with buttons and bows or similar, or using decorative stitches on the seamlines. You could even add a bit of a quilting effect by stitching around figures in a matching color thread.
Two things she mentioned:
1. The "pages" are not straight on the pattern and it bugged her a little that this resulted in pages not quite matching. (The edge of each page is colored, and where the color ends and the neutral background of the backing fabric begins is supposed to be the sewing line, so you only see color when the pages are together. Doesn't work so well if the line is "off".)
2. The instructions tell you not to wash the fabric before sewing, but to wash the finished book. However, she says that she cannot get the wrinkles out despite multiple ironings. You may want to press the fabric (use a pressing cloth) before sewing, just to get it wrinkle-free.
However, if you consider that this is supposed to be a baby's book, minor details like these are not a problem and the end result is a large, sturdy book that can be read, chewed, scrunched, dribbled on, and washed as much as you (or the baby) desires.
Would make fantastic baby shower or baby birthday/Christmas gifts.

Slipper Grippers Review

(More customer reviews)All together, this is a decent product and I would buy it again, because it has solved my problem. I bought these grippers for my 13 month old who was just starting to walk. I've had a hard time finding socks to fit her that have grippers. I've checked all the stores in my area, and the vast majority of gripper socks are 0-12 month size. It sort of puzzles me because many babies still need sock grips beyond the 0-12 month size.
There wasn't much product info for these posted on the website, so I will provide some details here:
- The package contains 2 squares of fabric with a TOTAL of 243 grippers. I used 6 grippers per sock, so this would last for 40 socks (or 20 pairs).
- You do NOT peel the grippers off, but rather must cut out each gripper. I wasn't really prepared for that, but it turned out to not be too bad. To quantify, it takes me 20-30 seconds to cut out one gripper. So, it takes a total of a few minutes per sock.
- You will definitely need fabric glue to glue these onto your sock or slipper. I really don't see any way you could stitch it on and have the end of each gripper stay flush to the sock/slipper. Plus, I would think that several stitches through the gripper could potentially crack or tear the gripper.
- I got the best fabric-to-fabric glue I could find (it was about $3), because you want to have the best chance of success with these grippers staying on. I have laundered the gripper socks about 20 times and the grippers are still intact. I'll admit that I've dried the socks on high heat. Although that probably isn't the best thing to do with fabric glue, it works for "practical" purposes of keeping up with laundry.
- After I glued on the grippers, I also placed heavy books on top of the sock for a few hours. I suppose this might have helped to make sure the glue sticks as well as possible. Make sure to get the glue all the way to the edges of the gripper, as the gripper will definitely come loose if the edges are not secured.
Also, there are absolutely no directions or guidance that comes with the product, so don't expect to get help from that. I'm going to try to post a picture of the end result of a few of these socks...

The motor on the razor slows down everytime it had to cut something, causing it to barely work. The casing for the shaver is badly put together and feels like it is going to fall apart any second. The end of the handle where you insert the batteries is weak and could easily break, causing your batteries to be stylishly taped in. I would never purchase this product again. A plug-in shaver may be a better purchase.
