Great for areas with limited space, this mini tabletop ironing board can be used on the floor, on the bed--just about anywhere. It comes equipped with a steel mesh board surface, a thick fiber pad, and a cotton canvas tan cover. The combination of the pad and the cover ensures a resilient matte-free ironing surface. Reliable Empressa Digital Steam Presses Review

This steam press makes my life a lot easier. I can press both sides of an item at one time. I can put a crease in that lasts all day.
It takes some time to get used to putting items on the press. I don't really use the steam much, but I use the squirt bottle all the time. Sometimes I placed an item so it developed a crease somewhere I didn't want it. Just squirt and repress.
Unlike regular ironing where you work on a small portion at a time, this does half a shirt or a whole pants leg at a time. Proper placement and smoothing it out before pressing is VERY important or else you repeat.
I usually count to about 8 and it is done.
Most shirts take four presses of 8 seconds each. Half the shirt twice and the sleeves. Pants, hmm, I am still working on the alignment thing. Usually I am pressing the pants flat, meaning seam to seam, then folding to put the crease down the leg.
You will burn yourself. My boyfriend gave me cut resistant gloves and cut the finger tips out on the palm side to help me do the alignment thing. It opens like a clamshell. The front side is about 10" open and the back end is only about 2-3" open. It is very easy to bump the top with your hand, which is the heated part, in the process of lying clothes on it. I also wear long sleeves. AND pants or shorts. It sits about four inches lower than my fully raised ironing board since I also got the stand. Perfect for sitting, While standing, well, I am tall so it is right at my crouch level. I haven't experienced it but I heard a man who stated that he accidentally caught his "stuff" in it. So, I don't use it naked.

The table was fairly easy to assemble, although one of the underside table inserts does not attach evenly and if connected makes the table sit unbalanced. So I leave it disconnected and all is fine. This table is great because it has a large work area, it has wheels and can be moved around and it folds down to save space. I am very happy with this purchase.

(More customer reviews)I hate ironing but since I refuse to look like a slob, I must. So I want the best tools to speed the process and minimize my annoyance with it. This little piece of equipment accomplishes both. Using it means I don't have a crease in my sleeves; a crease is not only the hallmark of the unskilled presser, it will damage the fabric over time. This sleeve board works on shirts of all sizes even women's shirts which usually have narrower sleeves. It's an invaluable tool. Martha Stewart would be proud of me.

This item is compact without the space consuming problems associated with ironing boards. All that's needed for setup is a surface approx 2'x 3' upon which to place it. Storage is easy using the built-in hanger to hang in a closet or it can be stood on end taking up little space. It has no legs to open, close and trip over. It is just a compact unit that you flip over if you need different surfaces.
Numerous measurements are printed on the cover to aid the sewer. One side is rectangular to facilitate large pieces of fabric. The other side has smaller shapes for pressing sleeves and pants. There is also a metal holder that pulls out to hold the iron so no board space is lost to a sitting iron.

(More customer reviews)Heavy,substantial,looks and feels sturdy.It is broader in width compared to that of regular ironing boards and so I'm not sure if I can find a padded cover that would cover it well and fit it snugly in case I have to replace the one that came with it. I have not checked any stores for this yet. The pad that came with it is not thick enough to my standards.The broader width, though, is a plus feature for me. It is quite heavy as I've said earlier and makes it hard to move it around, fold and put it right up, but it is sturdy. It was also shipped in a flimsy cardboard and not well protected that the iron holder got bent on one side, not so bad, though that that part could no longer be used. However, with the price tag, I was hoping to recieve it in top-notch shape.

Of course, not having to do all the extra exercise of holding it up to rest on its end really helps---just move off the ironing area and let go...it automatically raises and I have even set it on a wood table and it raises and doesn't leave a mark. The stainless soleplate is very smooth and would be easy to clean if necessary---and I prefer stainless over the teflon for environmental reasons as well as had trouble with another teflon iron in the past....

(More customer reviews)This is the ultimate in cheapness. Flimsy construction. Easily jams when opening and closing. Plastic top with the CHEAPEST ironing board cover which when I tried to close to make the cover snug on the board, the cord was broken and while pulling out the string the stitching came unraveled. How anybody could give this a 5 star rating is beyond me. They are either blind or on drugs. One look will tell you right away how cheap this thing is. I would be better off buying the cheapest board at Walmart. My recommendation; Give it a miss.
The company that makes this board read my review and tried to get me to change the review as they considered my review too harsh. If they made a quality product to begin with then I would not need to make a bad review!

Household Essentials Deluxe Ironing Board Pads & Covers Review

It's an elastic band type so the edges are a bit difficult to manage but it's better than the old string type I am replacing. This is a one piece cover so there is not an inner layer to worry about. It is quite thick and nice to use.
One thing to mention though, I did something stupid when I bought it. I just bought a new iron and I wanted to test it out on this cover, but since I had nothing on hand to iron, I just ironed the cover directly, this caused the stain/burn resistant coating to sort of come off (I think). Anyways, my stainless steel iron was covered with something, but it was easily washed off with a paper towel.
All in all, I really like the cover, it's nice and thick, covers my ironing board well and it's relatively inexpensive.
