(More customer reviews)It's getting harder to thread needles, and recently I've had to ask my teenage daughter to help me with this simple task. So I searched Amazon for needles with large eyes and stumbled across these "self-threading needles".
They are much easier to thread than typical needles. You just push the thread down onto the needle, into a small "U" shaped opening until you feel it snap into the eye. Even this takes a little time, but at least I don't need help anymore.

Z Lap Frame With Clamp Review

Easy to put together, nicely made (its hard wood and I was concerned about rough edges, but its really nicely sanded and treated), its very easy to put the item you are working on in the clamp, and it is also easy to adjust the angle to get really comfy. I am working on a large cross stitch peice roughly 2feet by 1.5 feet which I have in a 17 by 17 inch frame and this stand holds it easily. It folds down to a really manageable size and so I plan to take it with me when I go on vacation in August. I can have it on my lap and put my feet up on the recliner so my back is so much happier. Highly recommended.

Nancy recommends practicing threading daily until you're comfortable. It didn't take long! Adjusting tensions is also clearly explained. It has a number of features I couldn't get without spending much more money and comes with lots of accessories. I easily found the needles online too. I can hardly wait to try out all the stitches this machine is capable of. I'm an experienced seamstress but a novice about serging. I feel confident I'll be able to use the EZ Lock without difficulty. I'm very happy with the speed and simplicity sewing is now. I'll always have my sewing machine - but boy am I glad I finally bought a serger!

EZ Self Threading Needles (12pk) Review

(More customer reviews)The item states it comes as a 12 pack, but I received a 6 pack. About 1/2 the needles thread easily through the "EZ Threading" top, and the other half cut/rip the thread rather than threading the needle. Also, this item was small enough to fit in a small envelope, but instead of sending it in a 42 cent envelope they sent it with a magazine and put it in a large padded envelope that cost me $4.82 rather than 42 cents for shipping. Other than that the needles work fine.

My mother (a veteran seamstress) tells me that it's because the material I'm trying to use (cotton jersey) is too difficult for the machine to work with. As it is the only material I was planning to use, I will be returning the machine.

(More customer reviews)I wanted to make beds for my dogs as opposed to buying them (I have 4). This machine comes with quick start directions and I was able to make 4 beds in 1 day. I've now started the hobby of making decorative pillows for othe people homes.the machine is a little cheap but it does just fine for a beginner like myself, come with 6 different presser foots and 4 bobbins and seam cutter and extras.For the price you I dont think you can do better.
