(More customer reviews)Ordered these for my mother who had recently purchased a Brother CS6000I sewing machine, with uses the larger (11.5mm, 7/16th-inch) bobbins. Although (at least at the time of purchase) this product appeared when you searched for the correct Brother part number AND the CS6000I appeared as a buying suggestion on this item's product page, it is important to note that these bobbins are of the smaller type, therefore NOT compatible with the Brother CS6000I. Since "customers who bought this product also bought" the CS6000I, it looks as if it might be a common mistake.
The product itself seems to be of good quality if you need the smaller bobbins, but the important compatibility information that is present on the back of the packaging is missing on the product page.

Singer Walking / Even Feed Foot Review

The feed dogs work great, and it is simple to attach. The one I got in the mail looked a little different to me than the picture, but it fits and works well.

SINGER Inspiration 4228 Sewing Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this machine yesterday. It was so easy to use that within minutes we had threaded it and started sewing. Indeed, I was quite happy until today (a day later) when the bobbin thread started bunching. Within minutes the machine stopped stitching completely!! (The needle thread just won't pick up the bobbin thread at all!!) I telephoned the store and they think it may need timing adjustments!!! Will be returning it in the morning for a complete refund. Am thinking of getting a Brother instead. I had paid more for the Singer brand but am thoroughly disappointed!

(More customer reviews)I would say this is an okay machine for beginners. I say this because some seem to have the impression that the machine is supposed to do everything for you. First read the manual thoroughly so you can understand how the machine works. Second, in the beginning, my stitches kept getting tangled, and I realized all I needed to do was fix the tension. You just have to play around with the machine to understand how it works. Second, the "S" button is not in the stitch selector dial but stitch length. I've made 4 different projects with this machine so far and I love it. Works well and I'm sure I'll have this one for a while.

Brother CE4000 Lightweight Computerized Sewing Machine Review

(More customer reviews)This is a pretty nice machine, especially for $150 bucks. It's pretty fast but not too fast and you can adjust your speed easy. It comes with a very useful guide on how to do everything from threading it to making a bobbin to making a buttonhole. My major problem with it is that it can be kind of a drama queen about the bobbin and if you don't make it exactly right then the machine's tension goes all out of wack and you have to make the bobbin again. Most machines are like that though, so whatever. It has some nice stitch functions and can do two needle. For what you're paying you're getting a good deal. It's lasted me for around eight months without any problems and I don't doubt it will last for several more years at least if not more.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the 5160 5 years ago, and although I'm not a very frequent or expert sewer this machine has worked reliably well for me. I've made curtains, hemmed jeans and made lots of little baby gifts on this machine. Its instructions are pretty simple and easy to follow for anyone who's seen a sewing machine before. I haven't used any of the advanced features (buttonholes.) I like that it has a handle so that I can pull the machine out of the closet whenever I work on a project.
No complaints! And five years seems pretty good!
One drawback is that I've found it difficult to find extra bobbins for this machine.

Singer CE-100 Futura Sewing and Embroidery Machine Review

(More customer reviews)What makes this product so attractive is that by connecting it to a computer you can get an endless amount of embroidery designs. It is also a full feature sewing machine.
I bought this item for my wife's birthday. It does everything that is advertised. The sewing functions are straight forward, and everything worked as it should.
The embroidery isn't as staight forward. The instructions are very poor, and limited. Although I have to admit, that I figured most of it out fairly quickly. The embroidery is slow, and of course you have to change thread for every color change in your pattern. The designs came out looking good. I also downloaded some free designs from other sites, and they worked just as well.
My problem with this machine is two fold. The one we bought broke after only a few hours of use. It was a minor problem. The bobbin holder had a crack where the tension screw goes in. At first everything was fine, but within a few hours the thread started catching in the crack until it was unusable. I'm sure that this won't be a problem for most customers.
The second problem is much more severe in my opinion. No one has parts for the machine, and it's near impossible to even get a parts list. One item that doesn't come with the machine that my wife wanted was a zipper foot. The part number for that item was listed in the book, but when I went to find it, absolutely no one had it. I even wrote Singer's part's department, and they wrote back telling me to call.
It's a neat machine. As long as you get one that works, and aren't concerned about parts availability, I don't think you can find a better ebroidery machine for less money.

Singer 57817 17 Stitch Function and Electronic Speed Control Sewing Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this machine for years! I paid a lot more for it than Amazon is offering. So the price is just not an issue here. The main advantage of this machine is 1) It is Singer (the name says it all); 2) It has an automatic thread tension control (an invaluable feature for novices!); 3) It has 17 stitches (even the one for sewing on buttons, embroidery, and monogram); 4) It is very easy to operate, as a very detailed and easy to comprehend user manual is included; and 5) It is light-weight, compared to those bulky Kenmore and Bernina machines, it is is just a baby!
I would definitely recommend this machine to novices (especially for such a price) it is easy and cute, too.

It pops off completely to put on a new bobbin. But I've just made of habit of putting it in the same spot when changing bobbins so I won't lose it. I really like the little cubby hole storage box on the front to store the extra feet. Very nice machine, and I'm very happy with it.

(More customer reviews)I have been sewing for 44 years. I thought I would finally buy myself a "nice, fancy" sewing machine. This machine is so sensitive that if one little, bitty piece of thread gets caught in the feed dogs, the whole timimg goes out and it will not sew no matter how many times you re-thread or clean the bobbin case. You have to take it to get the timing reset. I sewed on this thing 6 times and had to get the timing reset 3 times. Each time I call the Singer support line and got the same story about only using Singer needles and bobbins - which I was doing. I have never been so disgusted with a machine in my life.

Singer 4205.CL Inspiration 5-Stitch Mechanical Sewing Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I always considered Singer to have good machines- after all, theyve been around FOREVER! Practically an american trademark no? Well, my hubby bought me this machine for christmas and I loved it at first! Was SO much better than my Pixie I was used to! Weeeeell, not long after I started using it, it started messing up. My stitches were very loose and loopy at the bottom, rethreaded helped sometimes. Adjusting the tension did nothing. Then in the middle of sewing a STRIAGHT LINE I heard a loud CLICK and it stopped sewing. The timing was off. On my brand new sewing machine. Absouletely ridiculous! Definitely NOT an operator error! I was doing nothing different at the time, just sewing a plain straight stitch using a lightweight COTTON material! >.< SO I called Singer and tried to get them to uphold thier 90 day unlimited warranty. No such luck! For them to uphold thier warranty, I would either have to spend $40 to ship it to the nearest warranty center or drive 3 hours to get there! What lousy customer service! Not helpful WHATSOEVER. FUrthermore, I was told it was MY FAULT. 0.o Defintely not my fault.
So, I went to return it to Joanns. I was given the run around and after contacting thier headquarters and the local overseer I was able to exchange it for a different machine, same model though as I was convinced it was simply a defect. Nope this one gives me the SAME problems. Same damn things. And its remarkable the thing breask RIGHT AFTER the unlimited warranty expires! I will never buy a Singer machine again. Total crap in my opinion. I now have a Janome Machine on the way after hearing wonderful things about Janome.
I learned how to sew at a VERY young age on my grandmothers commercial sewing machines. Then had a machine all growing up that flooded during a hurricane. (Brother machine). This was the first brand I have EVRE had problems with. Im very dissapointed too since I had such high expectations... Its a pretty machine, but all it gave me was frustrations and tears. Not worth it. Definitely NOT WORTH IT.

I've put it to the test with a few projects, and it has performed great. The only problem I noticed is that the feet occasionally come off if accidentally bumped. However, it is not that annoying, because it happens when I am not in the middle of stitching.
