Grace Z44-FF Pro No-Baste, Tiltable Hand Quilting Frame Review

(More customer reviews)While the concept is wonderful - who wouldn't love a no baste hand quilting frame - the reality is that this frame is extremely cumbersome. I spent days sanding and staining the pieces. But that was nothing compared to assembling it and moving it from the garage into the house by myself. It is stunningly time consuming to tighten the little screws and all the bolts and knobs, load the backing, batting and quilt top correctly and evenly and it takes up a solid one third of my living room. However, if you make it through all that, it's quite nice for the actual quilting. I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone - especially if you live alone and have to manhandle this by yourself ... and I'm not one to back down from a challenge.

Simplicity Deluxe SideWinder Portable Bobbin Winder Review

(More customer reviews)You can wind a viking green bobbin but you need to place the bobbin on upside down. It takes a bit of pushing but it will go on. It also spins a small amount, where as if it is placed upright it doesn't move. So I'm not sure if this is a good solution. The upside down bobbing does seem to affect the winding somewhat. My unit didn't wind the bobbin uniformly until towards the end. It did finish up nicely but I haven't had time to test how it works on my machine. There also doesn't seem to be any sort of auto stop feature. You need to watch the unit and power it down using the actual power switch. It doesn't make sense because you have an adjustable fill knob that pops out when your bobbin is full to the setting you choose. However it doesn't actually stop the machine, it seems to be more of a notifier. I do feel they misrepresented it a bit since they specifically list the green viking bobbin. So unless you want to wind your bobbin upside down you might want to look for a better solution.

(More customer reviews)I discoverd this product at a local sewing expo. This product works amazingly well in repairing holes and rips in clothing. The repairs are almost invisible! This product has many other uses besides just clothing repair. You can use it to baste quilts. You can use it to do your hemming. It can also be used in crafts and fabric art. You can view videos of several different how-to's by going to the company website which is at bonash dot com.
And the teflon ironing sheet is awesome. Absolutely nothing will stick to it!

A&E Maxi Lock Serger Thread 6000 yd Cone Black Review

(More customer reviews)Maxi-lock thread is a good quality thread and is cost effective. I don't have the serger sewing machine, yet I find it very useful for my quilting, embroidery, and sewing needs. Black thread is one of the most used colors, of course.
I use it in two way:
(1) I use it as a top thread using thread cone holder.
(2) I use it as a bottom bobbin thread. To wind it I use thread cone holder.
For general sewing I use Maxi Lock in top and bottom of my sewing machine. For embroidery and quilting I use Sulky thread as the top thread, and Maxi Lock thread as the bottom thread.
I am able to find tension on my sewing machine, which allows me to use Sulky thread as the top thread and maxi-lock thread as the bottom thread. I do this by setting the top tension to zero, and making small adjustments to the bobbin tension. This works particularly well when the bottom thread is close in color to the top thread. Maxi Lock has a huge variety of colors available. I have a large selection of bobbins with different Maxi Lock colors sitting ready to go to match whatever my top thread happens to be.
Using these large cones saves me a lot of money. They are so much more economical than the small spools, especially the wonderful (but expensive) Sulky threads.

I love that they are nonslip and clear, as are all of the Creative Grid rulers. I think I will use them again. They make it easy to cut perfect circles. They would also be useful to draw around for a perfect circle.

(More customer reviews)This cone thread holder is a simple device that saves me a lot of money by letting me use cone thread rather than regular spools. I use the holder on daily basis and it works perfectly. I was surprised to see some negative reviews, I did not encounter the issued described.
Cone thread holder holds a cone of thread on the metal dowel inserted into its middle. A tall arm holds the thread to the level that allows normal spooling into the machine.
I use the holder for two purposes:
(1) I use it to hold the top thread when I am sewing.
(2) I use it to wind the bobbin thread while the thread is coming from the cone on the holder.
I recommend this product.

I have bought many irons in my 30 years in business. And have paid large sums of money for some of them.
This iron is the best all around iron on the market today. I don't say that lightly either. It does pull more power with it's heavy duty electric cord, I expect my electric bill will go up slightly now that I use this exclusively on my fabrics..... But the finished product is so much nicer and I get the professional finish I want to have on my handwovens. The added cost is worth the finished product.
