(More customer reviews)I've been using this sort of bias tape for years in casual and fashion applications. For good sewing, I prefer making my own, but this width is perfect for things like kerchiefs and makes sewing them a snap. I cut a square that's 18 inches on the diagonal out of an appropriate quilt weight cotton, and then cut it half on the diagonal, hem the two short edges and cut a piece of bias tape a yard long. Sandwich the long edge between the two layers of the bias tape with centers together, and pin it in place, then sew along the entire length of the bias tape. That creates the ties and finishes the long edge. A half yard of quilting fabric, and a package of bias tape will make 4 kerchiefs. They make a good bazaar item, they are also very useful for tying back long hair.
