I could never quite get this tool to work as described. Light downward pressure didn't allow for the bits to spin properly 50% of the time. The bits would often stay in place while the tool turned. Meanwhile the cap/tightener would slowly un-thread itself until the bit come loose. After punching about four holes (the last one with a bit of a hard tap), the head permanently retracted into the handle and this lovely Japanese Book Drill was rendered useless.
Additionally, the largest of the bits didn't even fit all the way through the cap/tightener and couldn't be used.
Maybe I was using it wrong, but this was a waste of money for me.
