I purchased this pattern for my husbands halloween costume, Mad Hatter. I was worried that the instructions would not be clear and detailed. Once i received the pattern I found it to be very easy to follow instructions and very detailed. Very happy with how the vest and jacket turned out

1830's, 1840's & 1850's Frock Coat Pattern Review

Though I found the included sewing instructions somewhat confusing in their terseness (there weren't many diagrams to show how things fit together), I did manage to make enough sense of them to successfully finish the pattern. The completed frock coat looks great, and it fits really well, too! This isn't a pattern I'd recommend for beginners, but if you've got a bit of sewing experience, definitely try it out!
