I've been using a Gingher G10 in my work-shop for over 10 years, and it is a terrific trimmer. I recently needed a second pair of large scissors, so I bought another G10 model. I don't know how this tool could be any better than it is; it's that good.
Refer to Customer Images for a visual size comparison between a typically sized pair of scissors, and this Gingher model. The Fiskars model pictured is 8.5" long and weighs 2.5 ounces, while the Gingher G10 is 10.5"' long and weighs in at a hefty 13 ounces. In other words, the G10 weighs 5 times as much as typical scissors.
The G10 is heavy-duty and large, designed for big hands and tough shearing jobs. This model easily accommodates my XXL glove-size hand. I can actually get all four fingers in the large loop, but prefer to use three fingers with my index finger straight along the tool, as a guide while cutting. The thumb loop is very large, and my [big] thumb never gets "stuck" in the loop as it invariably does with average sized scissors. The handle is very comfortable for a big hand.
Quality is first rate. E.g., the chrome finish on my 10-year old G10 still looks new, with no chips of defects of any kind. I've never had to sharpen my older pair.
The G10 blades come very sharp from the factory and cuts paper with ease; as well as cardboard, thin leather, aluminum flashing, etc.
On the "negative" side, my guess is the G10 would be uncomfortably heavy to use for someone with small hands and the finger/thumb loops would be too large. My wife, who has small hands, can use them when her other scissors aren't up to a specific job, but she prefers smaller scissors.
These are man-sized, so if you need serious cutting power in a pair of scissors, this is the one to get.
