(More customer reviews)I have and love many Gingher products and was very excited about this seam ripper. The design appeared to be sleek and comfortable for the dreaded chore of ripping. The seam is quite ergonomic and I really like the design and feel of it. The problem is surprisingly the blade. First, the "tip" is the largest I have ever seen on a seam ripper and is blunt. So, forget using it to pick very small stitches. it is too big to "fit" into stitches made with a 1.5 stitch length. Second, the blade is actually dull. This is like the "surgical hook" style of ripper and I could actually rub my finger back and forth over the blade with some pressure quite comfortably. If I could, I would absolutely return it, but I misplaced the shipping label and the vendor will not take it back without it. Perhaps, I just received a dud blade, but if this is the general nature of the product, purchase a cheap ripper under $5 and you will be better able to get the job done. I am going to write to Gingher about this as I still believe they have good quality standards and just missed on this one. Perhaps, with some direct feedback a better blade will evolve with this great design.
