I have made a quilt for our soon to be born great-grandson on this frame and love the results. The frame was easy to use, and I am a beginner at quilting.

With just a little time and effort and a few basic tools, you can build a sturdy, portable, 3 roller quilting frame at a surprisingly low cost. The Hinterberg Design Easy to Build Quilt Kit includes all screws, bolts, and plated hardware, two decorative end joint pieces, 3 ratchet wheels made from super-strong laminated hardwood, 3 hardwood ratchet pawls, 2 tilt mechanisms (half-circular pieces) and clamps, 6 pole end caps, 1 special wing nut wrench and ratchet wheel wrench, complete instructions for putting your quilt on the frame, and building plans. Grace Z44-FF Pro No-Baste, Tiltable Hand Quilting Frame Review

(More customer reviews)While the concept is wonderful - who wouldn't love a no baste hand quilting frame - the reality is that this frame is extremely cumbersome. I spent days sanding and staining the pieces. But that was nothing compared to assembling it and moving it from the garage into the house by myself. It is stunningly time consuming to tighten the little screws and all the bolts and knobs, load the backing, batting and quilt top correctly and evenly and it takes up a solid one third of my living room. However, if you make it through all that, it's quite nice for the actual quilting. I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone - especially if you live alone and have to manhandle this by yourself ... and I'm not one to back down from a challenge.

(More customer reviews)This frame is very versatile. Mine came with the adjustable legs (4) of them so I was able to tilt the frame from any direction. It has easy assembly and easy to tear down. I've used it now for over 3 years and the tubes still hold my quilt top tight. Very easy to use.

Grace 24 Inch Wood Hoop2 with Stand Review

(More customer reviews)Upon receipt of this hoop/stand and reading the instructions about putting it together, at first I groaned picturing it taking me hours to put together. However, I soon realized that the directions were for assembling it from scratch and that most of the assembly was completed except for a couple of things. Turned out to be VERY EASY and I was done in 15 minutes (most of which was spent opening the boxes). I love the versatility of the stand, it is very helpful when working on a large quilt. I am "quilt-challenged" in that I can only quilt in one direction - two if pushed - so the ability to move the hoop quickly and easily is wonderful.

(More customer reviews)The good hoops are actually several veneer-thin layers of beechwood laminated together. The hoops appear to be "endless circles" like a wedding ring.
This hoop was made by bending a thin strip of wood until the ends of the strip touched each other. Then the ends were crudely stapled to a block of wood. The crummy block is not shown in the picture....Hope that the staples don't tear the fabric!
Also, the holes for the hoop-tightening bolt are mis-aligned, making the hoop hard to tighten and loosen.

I didn't get it in time to finish the quilt I was making for a Christmas present, but I used it a few days ago to make a "baby quilt". It is great! I love it. No aching back, easy to put together and use and take apart and store when you're done. What's best is that it really doesn't take up that much space so you can leave it up to finish your project. No regrets at all. Price was great too. Better than at JoAnn's or Hancocks. You'll love it!
