(More customer reviews)This book puts a new spin on DIY clothing by creating your own fabric from reusing and upcycling thread, paper and fabric scraps. Very Eco Chic! Jacqueline Myers-Cho has a very unique style, and has written a book that appeals to both both the Indie Crowd and mainstream crafters.
Strands has clothing and jewelry projects that are easy enough for anyone to do. Even if you fear the sewing machine, you can handstitch any of these projects. The projects are clean and modern but you can really make them uniquely yours by adding your own artistic touch. My faves in the book are the New York Fall Cape and the Smidgeon Ball Necklace.
Strands is a wonderfully refreshing twist on "reduce, reuse, recycle" mantra of today. These look like high end boutique wear that no one would guess was recycled. Even if you aren't into being 'grean' you'll enjoy the projects in this book.
