Fiskars 94337097 Kids 5-Inch Softgrip Left-Handed Pointed Scissors Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)As a right-handed person, I got fooled into believing that ambidextrous scissors for kids were the same as scissors for left-handed kids. WRONG!!!! WRONG!!!! WRONG!!!! My 6 year old has been cutting with ambidextrous scissors ever since she started cutting ... and I believed she cut well - straight lines, good circles, etc. However, when she brought to my attention the other day that she had some "good" scissors and some "bad" scissors - I had to find out what the difference was. So, I did some research only to find even though I thought I had been doing the right thing by getting ambidextrous scissors - it only meant the handle was a shape that either right or left handed people could use - it didn't mean it cut for a leftie. The proof is in the scissors. Scissors truly intended for left handed people will have the left blade raise up when you open them - where as ambidextrous scissors (like scissors for right-handed people) will have the right blade raise up. For a leftie - this causes the paper to almost bend before they can cut it. These are truly as they are advertised. I gave them to my daughter and instantaneoulsy and surprisingly - she started to cut even better and straighter. Would definitely recommend these for a leftie - it is definitely worth the price!
