(More customer reviews)I bought this 60-spool Mega Rack for its practicality but now appreciate it for its beauty!
The back story: I am a new crafter, picking up this hobby I began in childhood and discarded because I spent all my adult life grading essays and tests, planning lessons, and sponsoring clubs. Life as an English teacher is all-consuming. I'm done with all that. In fact, my five years as a children's librarian is about to end as well. Synchronicity rules! Last summer I took my sewing machine to school to make new covers for floor pillows, curtains for the windows, chair top covers for the birthday chairs. I thoroughly enjoyed selecting fabrics, colors, the art of sewing (OK, craft in my case), the physical act!
Then during Christmas vacation I found a McCall's pattern for these adorable cats. Since then I've made over 50. The problem with thread began with the cats! Because I work on multiple cats, I found myself changing threads and bobbins often. I have a bobbin box that holds enough bobbins ready to take out and put back in, but all those spools of thread just sat there in a disarray of colors. I found this 60-spool rack at my favorite fabric store, then began organizing the spools by color, and voila--no clutter, no disarray. Best--Organized thread at my fingertips!
What I did not expect and what I have thoroughly enjoyed is the decorative effect of those beautiful colors displayed against my white wall. (You can get a mental image through the product photo.) In fact, the artful arrangement led to to other displays of colors. But that's another story.
This story is about practicality and art. The 60-spool Mega-Rack wonderfully provides both of those!
