It doesn't just make life easier, some of the piece necessary to make a snap work, won't fit together without this tool. I definitely recommend this product and have used it myself.

Use with 2 layers of medium weight fabric reinforced with interfacing. Instructions: Mark position for snaps on lower and upper layers of fabric. Snap tools (a,b,c,d)and parts (a,b,c,d) fit together. TIP - If the area for the snap application cannot be reached, cut Tool F in half. Punch hole in fabric at marks using tools (e,f,g) or an awl. Attach upper snap parts - a.Insert tools (a,b) into tool F. b.Snap socket(b) and cap (a) firmly into tools (b & a). c.Place fabric (wrong side up) over cap. d.Lower tool (f) and use hammer to apply. Attach lower snap parts - a.Insert tools (c & d) into tool F. b.Insert stud eyelet (d) into tool D. c.Place fabric (right side up) over stud eyelet. d.Position stud (c) on stud eyelet. e.Lower tool F over stud, use hammer to apply.
