The pros: VERY well designed, it's cute but not too "cutesy" for a guy. The layers are simple enough but well designed and really stand out to make a wonderful stocking.
The cons: I would not recommend this kit for a beginner. I have experience with emboidery and so had no problems with it, but did have to do some interpreting with the instructions. A few typos, and not-quite-correct bits. Also, there's no backing for the front of the stocking, so if you make it as instructed, the stitches on the back would definitely catch on anything you tried to put IN the stocking (perhaps it's meant more for decoration than actually using it), so I'm going to add a backing on it to protect it before assembling the stocking.
Overall, it's a wonderful kit, not for a newby but it comes out beautiful if you know what you're doing!
