Chalk in the shape of a guitar pick. This is by far the best option I've found for marking adjustments on garments in progress, tracing patterns, or drafting onto raw fabric. These are bigger than other chalks. And you sharpen all the edges, so every edge can be used to mark. This is clay chalk; easily brushes off.
If you've ever cut fabric around tissue-paper patterns, you know it's awful. I find it easier to trace the pattern and cut. Or way better: trace and then check your size and make easy adjustments on the fabric before you cut. This is the same chalk some bespoke tailors use to hand-draft patterns onto wool for cutting suits, etc.
Buy this chalk. You never knew how easy it was to mark on fabric and draft patterns.
