These are bigger than other chalks. And you sharpen all the edges, so every edge can be used to mark. This is clay chalk; easily brushes off.
If you've ever cut fabric around tissue-paper patterns, you know it's awful. I find it easier to trace the pattern and cut. Or way better: trace and then check your size and make easy adjustments on the fabric before you cut. This is the same chalk some bespoke tailors use to hand-draft patterns onto wool for cutting suits, etc.
Buy this chalk. You never knew how easy it was to mark on fabric and draft patterns.
